 In order to update the MSMEs about latest developments in various relevant fields, COSIA organizes Seminars and Workshops across India. Introduction of Government Schemes and subsidies, technological developments, changes in laws, technical training as well as need to adopt best practices necessitates conducting of pertinent Seminars and Workshops. COSIA has been collaborating with local and regional Associations as well as Government Organisations for conducting the said events. COSIA played a leading role in promoting various useful Government Policies and schemes like Udyog Aadhaar, Mudra, Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme, Innovation facilitation, Energy Efficiency, GST Implementation & Awareness, SMILE (SIDBI), Skilling, NSIC Services and Schemes, Priority Lending to MSMEs, EPFO, BMO Accreditation, Industry-Academia Tie up, Management Practices, Foreign Trade, Labour Welfare etc. as well as other knowledge and awareness sessions for the benefit of MSMEs. AWARENESS SESSION OF PRE GST AMNESTY SCHEME OF GOVERNMENT OF MAHARASHTRA HELD AT NAGPUR

Awareness Program on Maharashtra State Government’s Amnesty Scheme for Pre GST period was jointly arranged by Chamber of Small Industry Associations (COSIA) Vidarbha Chapter & MIA Centre for Sports and Recreation at Nagpur on 12th April, 2019

INDEXPO - INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION AT NAGPUR HELD DURING 15TH TO 17TH FEBRUARY, 2019


Indore Infoline a professional Industrial Exhibitor in India organizes such Industrial Fairs all throughout India since last more than 15 years. This was their 8th consecutive year in Nagpur, for which those who are connected with Industrial activities were looking for. CHAMBER OR SMALL INDUSTRY ASSOCIATIONS (COSIA) - Vidarbha Chapter in its first year of existence could forge an alliance with Indore Infoline and participated in the exhibition as a COORGANISER. This exhibition which had a Booking of more than 150 stalls, had representation from machinery dealers, manufacturers, buyers, service providers and consumers from All over India. The exhibitors had displayed the items of latest technologies and from the varied field like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, Mechtronics, Internet of Things (IOT), E commerce, 3D Printing, Holograms, Digital Mapping & Reverse Engineering. The show was very beneficial for Engineering and Industrial products. It was a unique opportunity for exposure to upcoming Technology, Products and Requirements from customers. The ambience and look of the entire Exhibition was to the International standards. Having this background, Managing Director of Mahametro Rail Corporation Ltd, Dr Brijesh Dixit, agreed to inaugurate this prestigious show in the city on 15th February 2019, Thursday at 11 a.m. After the formal inauguration Dr Dixit spent about 1/2 an hour to visit each stall. He was highly impressed by the entire show and appreciated the joint efforts of Indore Infoline & COSIA. This three day event was witnessed by more 30,000 visitors from various parts of Central India. There was a continuous flow of crowd all throughout three days, which mainly comprised of serious buyers, consumers and technical students. COSIA made all out efforts to publicize this event and could garner support from industrial fraternity of the region which comprised of MSME sector, corporate sector as well as public sector undertakings. COSIA Central Office Representatives also extend their support to Vidarbha Chapter. Shri Purushottam Agwan, Vice President of COSIA had personally come to Nagpur to boost the morale of Shri Mayank Shukla the Chairman and other members of COSIA, Vidarbha Chapter.

"KNOWLEDGE ENRICHMENT” PROGRAMME FOR MSMES"

Organised by COSIA Vidarbha Chapter at MIA Center for Sports & Recreation at Nagpur on 15th December, 2018. This programme was divided in to two sessions. The first Session was aimed at imparting information on Hon’ble Prime Minister’s launching of MSME Support and Outreach Programme (12 initiatives) recently. The General Manager of DIC Nagpur Mr. Gajendra Bharati deliberated on these initiatives and how it will benefit the MSMEs. Similarly to be competitive in the global market MSME sector has to concentrate on Cost Optimization to offer their products to the consumers on “level playing grounds”. This important aspect in manufacturing sector will be dealt by a renowned CA Rajeev Chand in the 2nd session.

PROGRAMME ON " SLIGHT CHANGE (IN ATTITUDE) MAJOR GAIN (IN ERFORMANCE)"

This programme was held at Nagpur on 2nd June, 2018 with an aim to enrich the knowledge of Industrialists and their managerial Staff pertaining to Management Skill there by bringing a positive change in their attitude towards working, thinking and implementing various tools of Management Technique in not only their business but also in their daily routine. Mr. Mukund Mohta (Industrialist) was the key speaker at this programme.

WORKSHOP ON “HOW TO FINANCE YOUR BUSINESS USING GOVERNMENT SCHEMES/SUBSIDY.”

This workshop was held on 19th May, 2018 at Thane with an aim to create awareness among MSMEs regarding various schemes and subsidies like SMILE, MUDRA, Udyami Mitra etc available to them through SIDBI and other Government agencies. Representatives from SIDBI, Bank of Maharashtra, NSIC and DIC participated to share the information among the MSMEs.

(AT NAGPUR) PANEL DISCUSSION ON “BREAKING THE GST CODE - THE E WAY BILL STORY” AND “MSME - THE CHANGING TIDES”

This event was held at Nagpur on 7th April, 2018 and was divided in to 2 sessions. The first one was on GST and E way Bill, which was moderated by Mr. Sanjay Agrawal – Hon. Secretary of Nag-Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce with a 2-member panel consisting of Adv Sanjay Dwivedi and CA Pritam Batra. The second panel discussion on Proposed Change in MSME Classification was moderated by CA Julfesh Shah with a 3-member panel consisting Mr. Ashok Dharmadhikar – Joint Director of Industries Nagpur Division, CA Suresh Rathi and Mr. Purushottam Agwan. Both presentations were found extremely useful as testified to by a responsive gathering and the lively Q & A sessions which followed

(AT MUMBAI) PANEL DISCUSSION ON “BREAKING THE GST CODE - THE E WAY BILL STORY” AND “MSME - THE CHANGING TIDES”

This Panel discussion was organised at Mumbai on 21st March, 2018 and was conducted in two sessions. The first session on MSME issues was moderated by Mr. Rohit Millns–Managing Editor of TISA and comprised of a 4 member panel of Mr. R. Seshan – Executive Editor of TISA, Mr. R. B. Gupte, Director MSME DI Mumbai, CA. Bharat Sachdev, Industrial Consultant, Mr. Purushottam Agwan – VP of COSIA. The second session on GST was moderated by Mr. Sandeep Parikh – VP of COSIA and a 2 member panel comprising of Mr. Sanjay Dwivedi, GST Practitioner and Consultant and CA Bharat Sachdev.

(AT MUMBAI) ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON LOW COST AUTOMATION AND QUICK CHANGE OVER TECHNIQUES

Held on 2nd December, 2018 at Thane - Maharashtra, with an aim to understand the principles of low cost automation and implementation like Learning the levels in automation and their selection based on requirements; Relationship between setup time reduction & profitability; Set up time reduction and waste; Step by step approach to set up time reduction; Set up time reduction at the heart of JIT. This Workshop was organized in collaboration with IMTMA and GIZ.

ONE DAY TRAINING PROGRAM FOR INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIANS

Held on 24th September, 2017 at Mumbai, this Program aimed to achieve the objects like strengthening basic concepts required for an Industrial Electrician to carry out his job more efficiently and focus on practical issues and process implementation. This program was organised in collaboration with St. Joseph’s Industrial Training Institute - Don Bosco Mumbai.

WORKSHOP ON “INDUSTRY – ACADEMIA PARTNERSHIP”

This workshop was held on 12th September, 2017 at Mumbai in partnership with K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Vidyavihar and GIZ. This Workshop was organised with an aim to introduce the Faculty and Students of KJSEC to the environment of MSMEs and the challenges which they face and how academia can intervene to address those challenges. On the other hand, it also aimed to deliberate on the ways and means to further strengthen the tie up between COSIA and KJSEC and to understand how both the parties can contribute in achieving the above mentioned objectives in the long run. Various representatives from COSIA, Large Scale Industries and KJSEC Alumni participated and addressed the Students on relevant topics.

”PANEL DISCUSSION ON “BREAKING THE GST CODE”

This event was organized on 6th June, 2017 at Thane, Maharashtra for Entrepreneurs, Business Owners, Directors, CEOs, Partners to help them understand GST and its implications on their business decisions. The expert panel consisted of Mr. Sanjay Dwivedi, CA Rahul Jain and CA Mandar Telang. More than 120 MSME Representatives participated in this event.

”KNOWLEDGE SESSION ON “LEAN MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES AND IMPLEMENTATION OF LEAN MANUFACTURING COMPETITIVENESS SCHEME”

This session was organized with an aim that the participating SMEs will be able to appreciate the importance and need of LEAN Techniques; that the participating SMEs to decide whether to join a Cluster and what preparation is needed on their part and that Informed SMEs will be in a better position to successfully and seamlessly implement LMCS. Over 80 representatives from 13 Companies participated in this event.

ORIENTATION TRAINING ON MANAGING INNOVATION IN SMALL BUSINESS

This event was held on 3rd March, 2017 at Balasore, Odisha in association with Balasore Chamber of Industries and Commerce (BCIC). The objective of the programme was to sensitize SMEs on basic concepts of innovations, importance of incremental Innovation and to orient them on techniques & tools to be used for managing innovation in their firms. Over 40 SMEs participated from Northern Odisha.

AWARENESS SESSION ON “FINANCING FOR INNOVATION”

This session was held on 23rd August, 2016 at Thane, Maharashtra. The objective of the awareness session was to sensitize and create awareness amongst SMEs and supporting stakeholders such as academia, innovation service providers and knowledge brokers about the available funding instruments for financing innovation including the funding opportunities for acquisition of Clean, Green & Energy Efficient Technologies. It also provided opportunities to dive deep into few instruments and directly engage with the agency responsible for implementation.

AWARENESS WORKSHOP ON “ENERGY EFFICIENCY”

This event was organised on 20th April, 2016 in association with The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) SIDBI, World Bank – GEF Project and BEE.
